The City of Mukilteo is inviting local non-profits, government agencies, destination marketing organizations, and convention and visitors’ bureaus to apply for a 2024 Lodging Tax Grant. The deadline to apply online is 4:00pm on Thursday, September 14, 2023; no late applications will be accepted after that date. We will accept only online applications, not paper. Funds for these grants flow to the City from a 2% hotel/motel tax assessed on hotels/motels within the City. RCW 67.28.1816 restricts use of the tax to fund tourism promotion, and acquisitions, operations and/or maintenance of tourism facilities within the City. The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) will review the applications and listen to applicant presentations and recommend use of the funds to the City Council.
For grant funding year 2023, the Mukilteo City Council approved $235,000 in grants funded by lodging taxes. As Lodging Tax funds vary from year to year, there is no guarantee of the total amount awarded or if any grant awards will be made.
