Mukilteo Receives Another Clean Financial Audit

Mukilteo Mayor Jennifer Gregerson is pleased to announce that for the 2nd year in a row, the City has received a clean audit opinion from the Washington State Auditor’s Office.

“The City of Mukilteo is committed to responsible stewardship of public resources and transparent financial management. This clean, independent audit opinion reflects these commitments and is a result of the dedication of our wonderful staff throughout the organization. Our 2017 Financial Statements present a reliable, accurate picture of the City’s finances and provide valuable information for public stakeholders,” said Mayor Gregerson.

The 2017 Financial Statements Audit covered the period of January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017. A clean audit report indicates that there were no material deficiencies in the City’s financial statements and no instances of noncompliance, internal control weaknesses or other matters that are required to be reported under Government Auditing Standards.

The Washington State Auditor’s Office independently serves the citizens of Washington by promoting accountability, fiscal integrity, and openness in state and local government to ensure the efficient and effective use of public resources.
