Mukilteo Accepting Applications for Civil Service Commissioner

The City of Mukilteo now accepting applications to replace Civil Service Commissioner Jeff Bohnet, who is retiring from the Commission.  “Jeff has served our City and public safety officers thoughtfully and honorably,” said Mayor Jennifer Gregerson.  “Jeff has been a strong advocate of our police and fire employees, and was instrumental in revising our Civil Service Rules and Regulations to improve our appointment and promotion practices based on merit, efficiency and fitness.  We thank him for his service.”

The City of Mukilteo Rules and Regulations for Police and Fire, Rule III, state that Civil Service Commissioners “shall be citizens of the United States, residents of the City of Mukilteo for at least one (1) year immediately preceding appointment and electors (voter) of Snohomish County”. The successful candidate will complete Commissioner Bohnet’s term to April 1, 2019.  It is estimated that City Council appointment will be scheduled for January 16, 2018 at 7:00pm.

The right candidate will be committed to public service, with some background in human resources and staffing in either the public or private sectors.

To apply, complete the online Boards and Commissions application. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, January 2 at 4:30pm, and only an online application will be accepted.  Interviews with Mayor Gregerson will be scheduled for the first week in January.
