There will be a special pre-game ceremony at this Wednesday’s Kamiak vs. Mariner High School baseball game at Geiger Baseball Field. Coach Frank Nickerson and former student Jake Long were lost to us in 2016 and their special legacies will be highlighted. Wednesday, April 26 at 6:45pm.
The Kamiak Knights baseball program will continue to honor Coach Nickerson and Jake Long by issuing the numbers they wore to the most deserving two ball players on every Kamiak baseball team beginning next season. The #5 and #7 jersey will be Frank and Jake’s living legacy to ensure that the characteristics of toughness, integrity, respect, kindness, leadership, and inspiring others remain the cornerstones of the school’s baseball program.
The Kamiak Athletic Department, with the support of the Kamiak Athletic Booster Club, will present to the families Frank and Jake’s jerseys as a tribute to the contributions that Jake and Frank made to the Kamiak baseball program. Coach Nickerson and Jake Long will Forever be Kamiak Knights.
Parking for Kamiak High School Ball Fields/Geiger Field: the main lot of Kamiak (10801 Harbour Pointe Blvd.) at the very back is the closest to the baseball field.
