City Seeks EMS Levy Pro and Con Committee Members

The City of Mukilteo plans to add a ballot measure to the August 6, 2024, Primary Election to restore the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Levy to the previously approved (2010) rate of $0.50 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation from its current rate which has decreased to $0.275 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation. The decision regarding this levy lid lift will be finalized at the upcoming April 15 City Council Meeting.

The City is seeking applicants to write the pro and con statements for the voters’ pamphlet. The Pro Committee will write a statement in support of the ballot measure and a rebuttal to the Con Committee’s statement. Conversely, the Con Committee will write a statement against the measure and a rebuttal to the Pro Committee’s statement. Each committee can consist of up to 3 members. In order to apply, you must be a resident of Mukilteo and a registered voter in Snohomish County. Please make sure you will be available to collaborate with your committee members between May 3rd and May 15th.

Key Dates: 

  • April 8 @ 5 PM – Pro/con applications due to the City
  • April 15 @ 6 PM – City Council to approve pro/con committee members 
  • May 10 @ 5 PM – Pro/con statements due
  • May 15 @ 5 PM – Pro/con rebuttals due
