WSDOT Online Open House for Active Transportation Plan Through December 15

The Washington State Department of Transportation has created an online open house for the state active transportation plan and are ready for people to reach and respond by December 15, 2019.

Webinar Info Chat Registration

WSDOT has also created virtual info chats, a webinar-type format in which information will be shared on the safety, mobility and accessibility issues the plan is intended to address.  Members of the public are invited to register at http://bit.ly/WSDOT-ATP-Virtual2019. Participants will be able to submit questions and comments using the chat function in the presentation software. These will be recorded and available as archived links after the presentations.

Webinar dates and times (sign up before these fill up; we’ll add more dates if we max out):

  • Thursday Nov. 14, 6-7 p.m.
  • Tuesday Nov. 26, 12-1 p.m.
  • Wednesday Dec. 11, 7-8 p.m

What you’ll find on the WSDOT Active Transportation Plan Online Open House:

A questionnaire that asks:

o   Information about you to help us understand whether we have received responses from a sample that represents all Washington residents
o   What you use for transportation
o   What prevents you from using active transportation more often
o   What would make it more likely that you would walk, bike or roll
o   What’s unique about your community or region
o   What’s most important for government to focus on for future changes to the transportation system that affect walking, bicycling and rolling

Upcoming events where you can talk with WSDOT staff about active transportation

o   We’ll update this as more events are added and we’ll put word out through the e-mail list; subscribe at http://bit.ly/WSDOT-ATPlan-Enews

The definition of active transportation (we often get asked)

Our state routes analysis: How we’re creating decision-making tools to help us identify and prioritize future changes

Maps for your feedback: State routes color-coded by Level of Traffic Stress (LTS) and a form for your comments about what you think of this approach. (What is LTS anyway? We explain in the online open house.)
