As of 1pm on August 23, this Stage 1 burn ban has been lifted.
The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency has now instituted a Stage 1 burn ban effective at 5pm tonight. It makes sense given the wildfire smoke in the air.
What is Allowed under a Stage 1 burn ban
- Fires in EPA-certified wood inserts, wood stoves or pellet stoves/inserts
What is NOT Allowed under a Stage 1 burn ban
- Fires in Non-EPA-certified inserts or stoves
- Recreational fires, i.e., Lighthouse Park, that were previously allowed under Snohomish County’s Stage 1 burn ban.
