2017 Pavement Preservation

As part of our comprehensive street maintenance plan, this year the City of Mukilteo will be resurfacing 4.8 lane miles of streets in four areas of the City. In an effort to keep costs low, the City has formed a cooperative agreement with Snohomish County.  A private contractor will resurface City streets with a new layer of pavement (called Hot Mix Asphalt) and install new sidewalk curb ramps to improve access for people with disabilities in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  In some areas, the existing pavement will require repair and/or grinding before the new surface can be installed.

When is this Happening?

  • Access improvements at sidewalk curb ramps is scheduled to being in late June
  • Where needed, pavement repair or grinding is scheduled to being in July
  • Road resurfacing is scheduled for July-August
  • All work is scheduled to be completed by September

It is possible that construction schedules may change due to weather conditions or other construction progress.
