“Mukilteo Strong” Commemorative Community Picnic
July 30, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The City of Mukilteo will host a “Mukilteo Strong” Community Picnic to commemorate Jake Long, Jordan Ebner, and Anna Bui on the one year mark of their passing, to honor all those who were impacted by the event, and to celebrate the community spirit that has helped heal and rebuild Mukilteo.
Community members are invited to “bring your own picnic basket” and join with others at Lighthouse Park in Mukilteo. City Recreation staff will be on hand with a variety of lawn games and activities, including sidewalk chalk for messages of hope and remembrance. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Mukilteo is donating free popsicles, the City will provide other small refreshments as well, and several community groups will be volunteering in support of the event. There will be free firewood available for beach fires in permitted fire pits, provided outdoor burning is allowed at the time.
Parking is limited at Lighthouse Park, especially on weekend days in the summer, so picnic participants are encouraged to carpool, walk, bike and ride the bus to the event. Community Transit operates hourly bus service to Lighthouse Park on route 113, the Sunday bus schedule can be accessed online:

Additional parking is available at the Rosehill Community Center, which is less than one-half mile from Lighthouse Park. The lower parking lot at the Community Center is located near the intersection of 3rd Street and Lincoln Avenue in Mukilteo.
