Mukilteo Art Contest
March 21, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
The Mukilteo Youth Advisory Committee (MYAC) is a group of teens that works with City Council members and staff to organize community-oriented projects. This year, MYAC is planning the first-ever Mukilteo Art Contest, aimed towards getting more youth involved in the arts, encouraging their artistic interests, and celebrating their accomplishments in the area. Currently, there is no such contest held in the Mukilteo area that is open to ALL students; the closest public youth art show takes place in Kenmore. As this has been a barrier to some MYAC members in participating in visual arts in the community, we hope to remove the obstacle for other students in the Mukilteo area by providing them with with a local opportunity to exhibit their art.
Register now to participate! Registration closes on February 28th, and the opening reception for the event will be held at 5:30 PM on March 21st, 2018 at the Rosehill Community Center. All students grades 1-12 from the Greater Seattle Area have the opportunity to win up to $100, have their name published in the Mukilteo Beacon, and have their artwork hung for a month at Mukilteo City Hall. Register now at mukilteowa.gov/mukilteoartcontest!
