Gene Jaress Artist Reception at Rosehill

Gene Jaress has been a working artist for over 50 years, winning numerous awards in multiple mediums. After serving in combat in Vietnam, he studied at Cornish Art School. Painting, sculpture, printmaking and jewelry studies were followed by a career as a master jeweler.
As a painter, he uses an indirect style, using many thin transparent layers of oil paint to create a luminous atmospheric expression. Mr. Jaress believes in thoroughly mastering the medium he works in to produce an excellent piece of art from the support to the frame so the artwork may be appreciated for generations.
