Did you know storm drains in Mukilteo lead directly to streams, wetlands, and the Puget Sound? That’s why it’s important to keep them clear of leaves, trash, and other pollutants for healthier waterways. By adopting a drain, you can be apart of keeping pollutants out of the Puget Sound and preventing flooding during high storm events.
Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Adopt as many storm drains as you would like in your neighborhood at Adopt-a-Drain - Washington. Once your drain is adopted you will receive a welcome packet.
Step 2: Clean out your drain(s). This only takes 15 minutes twice a month!
Step 3: Estimate the type and pounds (or gallons) of debris collected and submit the data to track on your online account. At the end of the year, we will announce the amount of litter and debris collected by our adopters!
Join a community of volunteers across Washington. Adopt a drain near you to help protect our local waterways!
