As winter weather settles in, two of Mukilteo’s infrastructure projects will be paused until warmer, drier conditions return in 2025.
47th Pl W Pavement Preservation
The 47th Pl W Pavement Preservation project, which began later in the season, will be temporarily halted until spring. Before the pause, crews from Lakeside Industries will have completed critical improvements this fall, including new ADA ramps, curb replacements, and a crosswalk flashing beacon between the Boys and Girls Club and YMCA. Temporary striping, including a new bike lane, will also be in place. Final paving and permanent striping will resume when weather conditions allow for asphalt work.
Proposed night work on this project will also be delayed until next spring. This project is partially funded by a Federal Grant administered by the State.
Chennault Beach Rd Drainage Improvements
The Chennault Beach Rd Drainage Improvement project, which launched in mid-August, made substantial progress before the seasonal pause. Completed work includes a new outfall and storm piping, and the site is now secured with asphalt patches to ensure road stability and drainage throughout winter. Project construction will resume in March 2025, with monitoring by City and contractor staff during the break.
We appreciate your patience as we await improved weather to complete these projects safely and effectively.
