Volunteer Opportunities for Residents and Students

The City of Mukilteo is seeking candidates to apply to serve on the Rosehill Community Board and Parks & Arts Commission.

There are currently 3 regular vacancies, which are three-year terms each, on the Rosehill Community Board.

The City of Mukilteo is also seeking a student member of the Rosehill Community Board to replace student Margaret Wang, who has served the maximum number of two consecutive terms.  Per Resolution 2015-06 which created the Board, the student member “will be a student from the Mukilteo School District”; residency in Mukilteo is not required. The term of this student position is one year, commencing August 17, 2021.

The Board meets quarterly on the second Tuesday of the month, at 4:00pm at Rosehill for about an hour and a half, requiring a minimum time commitment. The purpose of the Rosehill Community Board is to provide input to the Mayor and City Council regarding policies and operations at the Rosehill Community Center.

After receipt of applications, interviews with the Mayor will be scheduled. City Council confirmation will be scheduled shortly after.

The Parks & Arts Commission consists of seven members who are appointed by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by the City Council. Duties of this Commission include advising and making recommendation to the Council for the management, control, improvement, beautification and planning of all city parks and of all play and recreational grounds and facilities. Monthly meetings are held at 6:00pm the first Thursday of the month.
