Up to $10,000 Available For Information in School Arson Investigation

The City of Mukilteo has announced an award of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for the arson at Columbia Elementary School.

On May 13, 2017, at approximately 10:06 P.M., Mukilteo Police and Firefighters responded to Columbia Elementary School for a reported fire.  The cause of the fire has been determined to be a result of arson and is being investigated by the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Mukilteo Police Department.

Any person with information that could assist in the investigation is encouraged to contact 1-800-55-ARSON. In addition, the Police Department can be contacted by e-mail at crimetips@mukilteowa.gov or by calling 425-263-8107 to speak directly to a detective.  Every effort will be made to keep information and tips anonymous.

The award will be funded by the Arson Alarm Foundation.  The Foundation works with communities to reduce the occurrence of arson fires and to apprehend and convict arsonists.
