Stage 1 Burn Ban Called for Snohomish County Including Mukilteo

As of August 16, 2017, this burn ban has been lifted within the City limits of Mukilteo ONLY.

Puget Sound Clean Air Agency has called for a Stage 1 burn ban in King, Kitsap, Pierce and Snohomish counties effective at 4pm August 8, 2017.  Winds from British Columbia are moving wildfire smoke into our area, raising air pollution levels classified in many parts of Puget Sound as “unhealthy for sensitive groups.” This air pattern is expected to continue through at least Friday and possibly longer.

The purpose of this burn ban is to reduce any additional harm to sensitive populations from excess air pollution.  The Clean Air Agency will continue to closely monitor the situation for purposes of air quality.

This ban includes all open flame fires including fire bowls, charcoal barbecues and fire pits, including those at Lighthouse Park.  No campfires, agricultural or bonfires are allowed. Backyard BBQs using natural or liquid propane gas are ok during a Stage 1 ban.

Please direct any questions to the Mukilteo Fire Department at 425.263.8150.

To report illegal burning during the ban, call the non-emergency number of 425.775.3000. CALL 9-1-1 to report an actual fire.
