North Central Ferry Advisory Commission Seeks Applicants

Advisory Commission is for Mukilteo Service Area

Everett, Snohomish County—Snohomish County is reestablishing the North Central Ferry Advisory Commission for the Mukilteo Washington State Ferry Service Area and seeking 3 interested applicants.  RCW 47.60.310 created local ferry advisory committees to provide local perspectives and recommendations to the Washington State Department of Transportation.  The Ferry Advisory Committees works directly with Washington State Ferries to:

  • Develop ferry schedules that work
  • Resolve customer problems
  • Understand regional issues

Applicants should have an active interest in issues pertaining to ferry service. They might be ferry commuters or people with businesses impacted by ferry terminal locations and schedules. The committee is made up of three persons who must be Snohomish County residents and who serve four-year terms.  “Not more than two members of any terminal-area committee may be from the same political party at the time of their appointment, and in a county having more than one committee, the overall party representation shall be as nearly equal as possible.”  Local committees meet quarterly within their own regions; each committee chair also serves on a state executive committee, which meets with state officials.

To apply, please complete the online application form.  Please submit an application by August 15, 2016. Appointments are confirmed by the Snohomish County Council on a recommendation of Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers.  For more information, contact Lacey Harper at 425.388.3699 or email.
