In 2017, the City of Mukilteo launched its “Mukilteo Cares” Green Business Certification Program to encourage local businesses to make significant modifications in their business practices to reduce negative environmental impacts. Those who take the “pledge” have received a special Mukilteo Cares window cling to display and recognition on the City’s website.
The City of Mukilteo has also partnered with the Mukilteo Chamber of Commerce, Waste Management, Snohomish County PUD and the local water districts to encourage energy and water conservation, improve recycling and composting efforts and reducing pollution.
Earlier in 2019, Leadership Snohomish County held its 21st annual leadership development class to over 70 talented and motivated professionals. All participants are divided into project teams, and one of the teams selected the City’s Green Business Certification Program as their class project, a requirement for graduation. The scope of this project was to develop a promotional plan for this program to generate more awareness to the local business community.
The 4-person team worked diligently for months and created a wonderful “Mukilteo Cares” promotional video. Learn more about “ Mukilteo Cares” Green Business Certification Program and how you can participate.
