Mukilteo Waterfront Pedestrian Path Closed Until Late 2019

Washington State Ferries confirmed today that the popular pedestrian path from the Sounder Station east to the Mount Baker Crossing will be closed from March 25, 2019 though next fall. Contractors will be digging in that area to install sewer lines and eventually, the new First Street.  Public safety during the ferry terminal construction is paramount.

Additionally, there is no pedestrian access east from Front Street beyond the gate near the NOAA building toward the ferry work zone.

They have committed to temporarily open the pedestrian path when possible and notify the City of Mukilteo in advance. The end result should be worth the wait when the new ferry terminal is open in fall of 2020.

Below is another view of the ferry work zone and the pedestrian access closures.
