Mukilteo Supports Korean March First Movement Day

March 1, 2019 is the 100th anniversary of the Independence Movement Day commemorating the independence of Korea and the peaceful protest against Japanese colonialism that began on March 1, 1919. A series of demonstrations that began in Seoul quickly spread throughout the entire Korean peninsula and unfortunately resulted in as many as 7,000 lives lost and 16,000 wounded by Japanese police and soldiers.

The Seattle Washington State Korean Association will hold a 100th Anniversary of Independence Movement Day on March 1 beginning at 11:00 am at the Community Life Center, 19820 Scriber Lake Road, Lynnwood.  Over 400 members of the community are expected to attend.
