Heavy rains caused the City of Mukilteo to close parts of 61st Place SW near 91st Place SW in the Olympus Terrace area because mudslide activity. Based on the tenuous site conditions, more expected rainfall and for public safety reasons, the City has determined that this road will remain closed until further notice.
All residents in the area should access their homes via alternates routes. Staff will continue to monitor the situation and directly communicate with local homeowners affected by these slides. Map of affected area: 61st Pl W Slide Area
We are also asking the public to avoid this area until the threat of additional slides has abated.
