Feedback needed, future Use of Hawthorne Hall survey

The City is requesting feedback from residents regarding the future Use of Hawthorne Hall. The survey can be taken here, and the deadline for feedback is December 28, 2020. Council is set to review feedback and discuss in January 2021.

Hawthorne Hall, located at 1134 2nd Street, is a 7,492 square foot building on an approximately 16,000 square-foot lot.  Built in the 1920’s, Hawthorne Hall includes a gym, office space and two multi-purpose rooms, as well as 12 parking stalls. The building is on the City’s Historic Register.

Leased to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Snohomish County in the 1960’s, the Club moved to its new location in Harbour Pointe last year.  The building is now vacant. The City Council plans to discuss the future use of the Hawthorne Hall building and property early next year. Some local organizations have expressed interest in using the space.  The City has discussed other options including using the space for recreation services, police needs, and selling the building.
