45th Place W & 46th Place W Natural Gas Main Replacement

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) and a contractor will be working on the natural gas system on 45th Place W and 46th Place W just off 84th Street. The work entails replacing the existing but decades old underground natural gas main and replacing select services to homes. The work is expected to begin the week of January 6 and is anticipated to take approximately 5 weeks. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

The prepare for this work, crews will be in the neighborhoods to mark the current underground utilities with colored paint or flags. There will be signs and traffic control flaggers to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through the work zones. They will strive to maintain access to driveways and parking areas whenever possible in coordination with impacted neighbors as needed.

There will likely be noise from trucks and heavy machinery during work hours. There will be a brief interruption of service when the gas service lines to homes are replaced; the crew foreman will provide information to those affected customers with more information in advance of the interruption.

Once the main gas construction is complete, there will be temporary patches in the road and/or sidewalks. These temporary patches will remain until a contractor returns to complete the final road and/or sidewalk restoration, which will depend on weather, permitting and crew availability.

Contact PSE at (425) 424-6472 or email Lisa Griffith, Project Manager for more information.
