12.14.21 Update
Work is on hold until Spring 2022. The plan was to update all the curb ramps along Harbour Reach Dr between Harbour Pointe Blvd and Chennault Beach Rd. this Fall prior to resurfacing in the Spring. The schedule was impacted by weather and material availability and not all the curb ramps were completed. The resurfacing work, and updating of the remaining curb ramps, is expected to occur Spring 2022.
Updating curb ramps to meet the current Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards is required when resurfacing a road.
About the Project
In 2007, The City of Mukilteo adopted a street preservation policy that established an annual program for street preservation. This enables the City to “keep good roads in good condition”. Arterial streets like, Harbour Reach Drive/Chennault Beach Rd, have priority for preservation maintenance because of the traffic volumes and connectivity to regional manufacturing and community centers.
Project Description
Public Outreach
During the construction phase, the City will keep the residential community informed of the project, namely, through the City’s website.
- Public meetings are not anticipated during this phase of the project.
Project Schedule
Construction is expected to begin in October 2021, with a slight pause for winter weather and then start again mid-spring of 2022. It is possible that the construction schedule may change due to weather conditions. Typical hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.
