Surface Water Programs

One Surface Water Utility goal is to provide long term planning throughout its programs.  The Comprehensive Stormwater Management Program Plan is the primary tool used to guide decisions for the use of Utility funds in its operations, engineering, and capital programs.  The City uses a long term planning process to evaluate future Utility needs, develop Utility goals, and set performance measures.

On September 21, 2015, the City Council adopted the Comprehensive Stormwater Management Program Plan 2015-2021.   It considers these programs within the Utility:

In order to support these programs, Council adopted new surface water rates, effective January 1, 2016, with scheduled increases through 2020.  The Comprehensive Surface Water Management Plan outlines performance measures for each of these programs.   The first evaluation was provided to Council in 2017.An annual evaluation against these performance measures will help guide the Utility in future years.
