Shakespeare in the Park
July 14, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a comedy play by William Shakespeare. It portrays the events surrounding the marriage of the Duke of Athens, Theseus, and Hippolyta. These include the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of six amateur actors (the mechanicals) who are controlled and manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest in which most of the play is set. The play is one of Shakespeare’s most popular works for the stage.
The much-loved play will be performed at either the 92nd Street Park (June 25 and 26) or the Rosehill Community Center Plaza on July 14. Arrive early to secure parking, and bring a blanket to sit on.
Local director and performer Cyndi Thomsen will be directing, and many local actors will be performing.
