Business Licenses

Mukilteo is a great place to do business – we’re glad you’re thinking of joining us!

If you are over 18 years of age and doing business in Mukilteo, you need a license. There are several license types depending on the type of activity you’re doing:

• General business license. For any business with a physical, commercial location within city limits (e.g., restaurants, retail stores, professional offices). 
• Non-resident business license. For any business headquartered outside city limits that does work inside city limits (e.g., plumbers, food trucks). 
• Home occupation license. For any individual running a business from their primary residence. 
• Canvasser-peddler license. For any entity sending people door-to-door.  

For a canvasser-peddler license, apply directly to the City of Mukilteo. For all other license, apply to the Washington State Department of Revenue (DOR).
