Mukilteo Residents Support Their Officers

Many residents of Mukilteo were affected by the recent police shootings in Dallas and wanted to show their support for officers of the Mukilteo Police Department.  Throughout the day on Friday, July 8, 2016, Mukilteo residents arrived at the Police Station to drop off food, flowers, and expressed words of thanks and encouragement to show their support and appreciation for their officers.

Mayor Jennifer Gregerson said, “I am proud of the close relationship the citizens of Mukilteo have with our police officers. It is heartwarming to see the community respond with acts of kindness and words of encouragement.”

A police-community partnership is one of the most important elements of successful policing.  It maintains trust, unity, and cooperation between the police department and those who police are sworn to protect and serve.  Chief Charles Macklin said, “The men and women of the Mukilteo Police Department do a tremendous job everyday.  We continue to work for and with the citizens to ensure a fun and safe community.”

The officers are very appreciative of the thoughtfulness and support from the citizens of which they proudly serve.
