2016 Citizen of the Year Nominations

Each year, an outstanding member of the Mukilteo community is selected as the ” 2016 Citizen of the Year.”  This is a wonderful way to honor someone who has made significant contributions to the community.  Nominations are now being requested for consideration.  DEADLINE: May 31, 2016.

To be considered, nominees must be:

  • Not a paid promoter for the City

Recipients of the award are recognized at a special ceremony hosted by the Harbour Pointe Retirement Community, and featured as a guest of honor in the Lighthouse Festival parade to be held on September 10, 2016.  In addition, the honoree is presented with a special plaque by Mayor Jennifer Gregerson at an awards ceremony hosted by the Mukilteo Historical Society.  The 2016 Citizen of the Year’s name is added to the perpetual plaque located at Rosehill Community Center, and contains the names of all previous recipients.  Past recipients include Stan Lundgaard, Jim Brice, John Collier, Tony McNulty, Helen Conway, and Carol Goldberg.

The selection committee is made up of past Citizens of the Year and is sponsored by the Mukilteo Kiwanis Club.  Those wishing to nominate someone must complete the 2016 Citizen of the Year Application and submit a letter detailing the reasons for the nomination.  The completed form and letter may be emailed or mailed to:
